Ash Hut, the grey shepherd hut, with its decking and garden chairs

ASH HUT

Our east-facing shepherd hut for two, with its own wood-fired hot tub and a welcome for your dog

In short

Ash Hut is a shepherd hut for two adults (over 18) at Temple Bruer, near Lincoln, with its own private wood-fired hot tub, fire pit and king-size bed. It faces east, is the first hut you reach along the track, and welcomes a well-behaved dog. You book it through cottages.com, where guests rate it 5.0 out of 5.

What is Ash Hut like inside?

Ash Hut is just under 5.5 metres long and 2.5 metres wide. Steps lead up to a raised deck and the front door, which opens into the kitchen and breakfast bar. On the left is the shower room, with a walk-in shower, basin, WC and heated towel rail. On the right is a semi-private raised bed area with a king-size bed and storage underneath for your cases.

The kitchen has a hob, microwave, slow cooker, air fryer, toaster, kettle and a fridge with a small freezer compartment, plus pots, pans and utensils. An air-conditioning and heating unit keeps the hut comfortable in every season, and there is WiFi and a Bluetooth speaker but no television. Bed linen, towels, dressing gowns and toiletries are all provided. The full list is on our facilities page.

Your own hot tub and garden

Outside, the decking with its chairs leads to an enclosed lawn with your own private wood-fired hot tub for two, a fire pit and an outdoor cooking area, with BBQ utensils provided. We leave a starter pack of logs and eco-firelighters for the hot tub and fire pit, and you can buy more logs at the Co-op in Navenby, two miles away. Bring flip-flops, sliders or Crocs to make getting in and out of the tub easier. On a clear night the meadow is a lovely place to watch the stars from the hot tub.

Bringing your dog

Ash Hut is the hut for guests who want to bring their dog. Dogs must be well behaved, kept on a lead no longer than two metres, never left unattended, and cleaned up after. A pet charge applies, as shown on our cottages.com listing. If you would like to bring more than one dog, please ask us before you book.

How Ash Hut differs from Oak Hut

Ash and Oak have the same layout, facilities and size. The differences are the colour scheme, the view and dogs: Ash Hut faces east and is the one you reach first along the woodchip track, while Oak Hut faces south and sits a little further on. Travelling as four? The two huts can be booked together for up to four adults, two in each.
